1980

The 1980 boys track team was led by Stu Shoskin, who was the Metro and District 10 Champ in the 110 meter and 300 meter hurdles, he also placed 4th at states in 110 meter hurdles. Mike Goodwin led the team in points as well as being the best sprinter. The team finished 2nd in the Metro and in District 10.

1981

Mark Dennen was the Most Outstanding Track and Field Performer, as well as the Best Field Performer. Leading the team on the track were: Dan Kuligowski, Ralph Yannayon, Mike Brown, and Steve DeHort. The team struggled to a 2-3 record in the Metro to finish 4th. They also placed 4th in the Metro and District 10 Championships

1982

The team went undefeated at 8-0, and won the Youngsville, and Kane Invitationals. They also won the Metro title, and finished as the runner-up in the District 10 Championship.

1983

Three athletes became district champs, qualifying for states. Tim Davis placed 5th at states in the discus, Craig Owens qualified in the shot put, and Dana Dobbs in the triple jump. Tim set a new Metro record with a discus throw of 159 feet, 5 inches. Dana Dobbs and Kevin Flowers set new school records in the triple jump and high jumps. Dana also tied the record in the 100 meter dash.

1984

The team was led by Kevin Flowers. Flowers set the Metro Championship record in the High Jump (6-9) and the Triple Jump (44-10 1/4). He was also the district champion in the High Jump and Triple Jump. The 3200 relay team of Mike Cifelli, Jeff Deitch, Tim Bain and Thom Ludwig were district champs. Jeff Chandler was the district champ in the Shot Put.   

1985

In coach Bob Hoffman's first year, the boys track team won the Metro and District 10 meet and finished 8th at states, and had a 9-0 record. New District records were set in the triple jump, and the high jump by Kevin Flowers. Flowers went on to finish 2nd in the triple jump at states, and 5th in the high jump.

1986

Rick Flowers qualified for the state championship and was one of 27 athletes that qualified for the District 10 Championship. Dave Clark set the school & district record in the 800 meter run. The team ended undefeated again at 9-0, and won the Metro and District crowns.

1987

The boys’ team went undefeated at 9-0 and captured the Metro and District 10 crowns. Outstanding athletes on the team included Rick Flowers, John Mumford, and Dave Clark. Clark set a new Metro record in the 800 meter run with a 1:56.78.

1988

The boys track team once again won the Metro and District 10 titles. They were led by John Mumford, who finished 6th in the long jump at states, and was the Metro and District champ in that event. Sean Cooney placed 6th at states in the pole vault. Brian Pfister placed 8th in the long jump. Derek Sanford placed 8th in the javelin.

1989

Derek Sanford led the team as the captain. He won districts and placed 9th at states in Javelin. Aaron Pratzel broke the Metro record in the pole vault with a height of 13'4.5''. Chris Spurlin led the distance runners as he broke the 3200 meter school record with a time of 9:38.21. He also took 10th place at the state meet. The 1600 meter relay team took 9th place at states.
