2000

Ryan Sherwood-Ericsson broke a 38-year old record in the javelin with a throw of 214 feet 5 inches. The team sent 3 pole vaulters to the state meet after Steve Carlucci, Nathan Freedman, and Lamech Marsh finished 1-2-3 in the district meet. Carlucci and Marsh both tied for 5th place at the state meet.

2001

The 2001 boys team won the Metro Championship with individual wins by Chad Risner in the triple jump, and high jump, Lamech Marsh in the pole vault, and Ryan Sherwood-Ericcson in the long jump and javelin. Sherwood-Ericsson was a state champion in the javelin with a school record toss of 229 feet 10 inches. Steve Carlucci finished 2nd in the pole vault at states and Lamech Marsh finished 7th.

2002

Ryan Sherwood-Ericsson led the boys team with a state record in the javelin under the new javelin weight with a throw of 222 feet 8 inches. Braeden Maloney led the team in the 1600, and the 3200, which he finished 4th at districts in. Kellen Cassidy finished 2nd at districts in the 200 with a 23.37, and Leigh Loesel vaulted to a 12-9 height to finish 2nd in the pole vault to district record holder Andrew Rademacher of Hickory. The team just missed winning the Metro title. They also placed 2nd at districts.

2003

For the first time since 1998, the boys track team won both the Metro and District 10 title in the same season. The 4 x 400 relay team won districts with a time of 3:27.24. Finishing in 2nd place at districts were: Greg Hess, who vaulted 14-0, Demetric Braxton, who threw the discus 137 feet 1 ½ inches, and Mike Pistone, who threw the shot put 50 feet 7 ½ inches. Jayson White took 3rd at districts in the shot put at 47-10.5 and Chad Gorniak finished 3rd in the pole vault with a height of 14-0.

2004

Brian Hammel led the team as the team MVP. Also leading the team were Brian Pratt (distance), Adam Krizanik (sprints), Jon Benson (distance), Scott Mang (pole vault), and Adam Morrison (jumps). It was the 17th time in the last 19 years that the boys team won the Metro title.

2005

Emmanuel Overare and Kevin Gorny led the team as district 10 champs in the triple jump and the 3200 meter run. The team finished 2nd to Cathedral Prep in Region 5 and 3rd in districts to General McLane and Cathedral Prep. Overare set an indoor record for the triple jump with a leap of 43 feet, 5 inches.

2006

The 2006 boys team took back the Region 5 and District 10 titles in dominating fashion with individuals winners such as Emmanuel Overare (Triple Jump), Chad Noce (Discus), Jason Mehall (Pole Vault), Brice Myers (110 meter hurdles), and the 3200 meter relay team. Myers went on to finish 6th in the 110 meter hurdles at states. The team beat Cathedral Prep in a dual meet for the first time since 1999 to finish with their first undefeated season since 1997.

2007

The 2007 boys track team did something that no other McDowell team had done before. They won every single meet they were in, including the indoor and outdoor state championships. The team went 7-0 in dual meets and won the Region 5 title with dominating victories against Cathedral Prep and General McLane. The team won the District 10 Championship with 233 points, that beat out General McLane and Meadville, who had 75.5 points. The state title was won in the final event by 3 points over North Penn. A total of 17 school records were set this year: Brice Myers (110, 300, 55, 60 meter hurdles), Aaron Fitzpatrick (indoor & outdoor 400), Johnny Dogun (outdoor 200), Peter Overare (indoor 200), George Brown (indoor 800), Emmanuel Overare (indoor long jump & triple jump), Chad Noce (indoor & outdoor shot put), Brice Myers, Johnny Dogun, Peter Overare, and Aaron Fitzpatrick (4 x 200), Johnny Dogun, Brice Myers, Josh Freeman, and Aaron Fitzpatrick (indoor 4 x 400), Nate Krizanik, Johnny Dogun, Peter Overare, and Brice Myers (4 x 100), and Johnny Dogun, Brice Myers, George Brown, and Aaron Fitzpatrick (outdoor 4 x 400).

2008

Led by returning state medalists Dan Kwiatkowski and Johnny Dogun, the 2008 squad tried to repeat as the Region 5, District 10, and state champs. The team won all their dual meets and only lost one invitational along the way to winning districts for the third straight year. The team had the pieces to at least finish in the top 4 at states, but luck wasn't on their side this year as Dan Kwiatkowski was given a questionable disqualification in the discus and 4 x 100 team failed to make the finals after a bad hand-off. Kwiatkowski still dominated the Shot Put and Johnny Dogun finished 8th in the 400 meter dash. The 4 x 100 team of Robert Ward, Johnny Dogun, Peter Overare, and Dakoda Walker rebounded at the national meet to set a school record time of 42.02. Also setting school records were Alex Schmude in the long jump (23-0) and Dan Kwiatkowski in the Shot Put (64-1).

2009

Led by Peter Overare, who set the school record in the 200 (22.03) and place 8th at state in the 100, the team went on to win the Region 5 and District 10 titles. The team has now won 31 straight dual meets going back to 2005. Pat Cochran set the school record in the triple jump (47-10 ½) as he placed 5th at states in that event. Pat also won the high jump at districts (6-5). Mike Bizzarro finished second at districts in the high jump and had a season best 6-8. Joe Kelly won both the shot put (46-9 ½) and discus (131-9) at districts. The relay team of Joe Letto, Peter Overare, Alex Schmude and Mike Bizzarro set the district record in the 4 x 100 relay (42.42) even though they technically didn't win the event. Also advancing to states by qualifying were Nick McAllister (15.09) in the 110 hurdles and John Dahlstrand (44-11 ½) in the triple jump
