1980
Sue Edgett was the Most Outstanding Runner for the 1980 season by finishing in a tie for 1st in Section 1, 3rd at Districts, and 43rd at the state meet. Michelle Brown tied Sue at Section 1, and placed 2nd at Districts. She just missed another All-State honor by placing 25th at the state meet (top 20 were All-State). Once again, the team won the Section 1, and District 10 titles, but they lost the Metro title by losing to Strong Vincent 27-28.
1981
The team was led by Loren Yeager, who was the Most Outstanding Runner with a 4th place finish at Section 1. Karen Thorndill placed 9th at Sections. Maria Iavarone placed 12th at Sections, and 16th at districts as a freshman. Jessica Spurlin, also a freshman, placed 11th at both Sections, and districts. The team finished 2nd to Villa Maria in the Metro League after a 22-33 loss to the Victors.
1982
Karen Thorndill led the team as the 1982 Most Outstanding Runner. She placed 6th at the Section 1 Championship. Loren Yeager placed 9th, and Michelle Mahoney finished in 10th place in the same meet.
1983
In the District 10 Championship, Michelle Mahoney finished 8th to qualify for states, where shie finished 175th. Marcia Lavarone, Michelle Mahoney, and Rayfaida Al-Misky were awarded All-Metro honors. Michelle was the Outstanding Runner for 1983.
1984
The 1984 team struggled through a tough schedule, but did manage to finish 3rd place at the district meet.
1985
Freshman Cheri Theobald, chosen as “Outstanding Runner” of 1985, placed 8th at the Section 1 Championship.
1968
The 1968 cross country team had 19 new runners, but still managed a successful season with 9 wins and only 2 losses. The team won the Central Catholic Invitational, took 2nd at Section 1, lost districts to Strong Vincent, and placed 6th at the state meet. The team was led by All-State runner, and captain, Jon Bannister, and captain Jay Pratt, who finished 10th at districts. Bannister finished 12th at the state meet to tie the highest finish ever by a McDowell runner.
1969
1986
The team struggled to a 1-4 start, but managed to finish 5-5 overall, on their way to a 3rd place finish in Section 1. Dianne Ludwig was the “Outstanding Runner” of the year.
1987
Michelle Gausman came in 6th at Sections, 6th at districts, and 72nd at the state meet. Cheryl DeMichele took 3rd place at Sections. The team finished 2nd to Villa Maria for the Metro title, but won the Section 1 Championship for the first time since 1980.
1988
Winning the Metro and District 10 titles, the girls were led by “Outstanding Runner” and District champ, Michele Gausman. She finished 49th at the state meet. Amy Humbert placed 3rd at the district meet.
1989
The team won Metro and Districts for the second straight year. It was also their first ever undefeated season. Kate Petri was named the Most Outstanding Runner, who was the District Champion. Amy Humbert was 3rd at Districts, and 94th at the state meet. Julie Micholas was 6th at Districts, and 93rd at states. Julie Micholas, Kate Petri, Amy Humbert, Nancy Rudolph, Amal Al-Misky, Alisha Eisert, and Gwen Salmon were chosen for the All-Metro Team.
