1990
The 1990 team was able to repeat as Metro champions by narrowly beating Cathedral Prep 26-29. They also repeated as Section 1 and District 10 champions, and for the second straight year, went undefeated (9-0). Dennis Deitch, Adam Dennison, Mark Dunn, Bill Jacobs, and Jim Mack made 1st team All-Metro. Howard Minor, Andy Taylor, and Frank Toomey made the honorable mention list. Dennis Deitch went on to place 80th at the state meet.
1991
The 1991 cross country team won the Metro Championship with a 24-31 victory over Cathedral Prep, which was their third straight. Once again the team went undefeated at 8-0, to extend their dual meet winning streak to 25 in a row. They did however finish 2nd to Cathedral Prep in both Section 1 and District 10 Championships. They were led by All-Metro runners Jim Mack, Matt Walters, Frank Toomey, and Stuart Zurn. Jim Mack, the Runner of the Year, was the only runner to qualify for states. The most improved runner was Ralph Iarussi. Stuart Zurn received Freshman of the Year, and Scott Reffner received the Spice Award.
1992
Jim Mack was the Section 1 Champ as well as the top McDowell runner at districts, finishing 3rd. He also ended a brilliant career by finishing 32nd at the State Championships. He also broke the school record time of 16:34. The team finished 2nd to Cathedral Prep in both the Metro and Section 1. The team's dual meet streak also ended at 29 straight to the hands of Warren 26-31.
1993
The 1993 team ended with a perfect 7-0 record and the Metro, and Section 1 titles. Jeremy Greenburg, and Kevin Dunlavey shared the runner of the year awards. Stu Zurn, the lone qualifier for states, received the Rookie of the Year Award.
1994
The 1994 team went undefeated in the Metro as well as winning the Section 1 and District 10 Championships. Jeremy Greenburg and Kevin Dunlavey finished 2nd and 3rd at districts to lead the team. The team finished 10th at the State Championship with Dunlavey and Greenburg finishing 56th and 58th. Earning All-Metro honors were Jeremy Greenburg, Kevin Dunlavey, Adam Dzuricky, Steve Mack, T.J. Wellington, Steve Lundberg, Jamie Respecki, Mike Ruffa, Eric Krause, and Matt Moon received honorable mention. Freshman, Adam Dzuricky, had the best finish ever at states for a freshman, finishing 135th. The previous best was Chris Spurlin, with a 159th place in 1986.
1968
The 1968 cross country team had 19 new runners, but still managed a successful season with 9 wins and only 2 losses. The team won the Central Catholic Invitational, took 2nd at Section 1, lost districts to Strong Vincent, and placed 6th at the state meet. The team was led by All-State runner, and captain, Jon Bannister, and captain Jay Pratt, who finished 10th at districts. Bannister finished 12th at the state meet to tie the highest finish ever by a McDowell runner.
1969
1995
The boys team ended up the season at 7-0, with a Metro title, Section 1 title, a District 10 title, and a 10th place finish at the State Championships. Named to the All-Metro team were Jeremy Greenburg, Kevin Dunlavey, Adam Dzuricky, Jamie Respecki, and Clint Thompson. The team was led at states by Kevin Dunlavey, who placed 69th. Dzuricky placed 74th at states.
1996
The team won the Metro, Sectionals, and District titles behind the Sectional and District 10 Champ Adam Dzuricky. Eight All-Metro selections were given to Adam Dzuricky, Clint Thompson, Kyle Bohrer, Tim Mantsch, Scott Mellon, Eric Krause, Jared Detter, and Brian Hanna. Earning honorable mention were Matt Culp and freshman Shane Krause.
1997
The boys’ team enjoyed an 8-0 season, which was their 5th straight undefeated season. They had 4 shutouts, including their first ever against Cathedral Prep. The team also won won the Metro, Section 1, and District 10 titles. Adam Dzuricky led the team at states with a 28th place finish, which was the highest since 1981, when Mike Brown finished 17th overall. Adam also broke the school record at Browns Farm (16:09.5) and the Frontier record (16:04). Joining him on the 1st team All-Metro team were: Clint Thompson, Joe Vacanti, Shane Krause, Kyle Bohrer, Tim Mantsch, and Scott Mellon. Paul Minor, Ben Fischer, and Rich Custer were named to the honorable mention list. Clint Thompson placed 73rd at the state meet.
1998
The 1998 boys’ team placed 1st in the Metro, Section 1, and District 10 meets. Key runners included Joe Vacanti, Tim Mantsch, Scott Mellon, Mike Lopez, Shane Krause, Kyle Bohrer, and Rich Custer. Vacanti led the team at states to an 81st place finish.
1999
The 1999 boys’ team won their 6th consecutive District 10 title and their 8th consecutive Metro and Section 1 title. The season did however start on a bad note as they lost a dual meet for the first in 39 meets to Butler (27-28). Joe Vacanti was the Sectional champ, the District runner-up, and was the first All-State runner in 18 years by finishing 19th overall. The team had their best finish under Mr. Pratt at states with a 7th place finish. It was also the best team finish since the team finished in 6th place in 1968. Also contributing at the state meet where Rich Custer, who placed 54th, and Shane Krause, who place 97th.
