2000

Casey Pratt led the team as the Runner of the Year. He was the only runner to qualify for states as the team was narrowly defeated at districts by a much improved Harbor Creek team that took 3 out of the top 5 spots. The team did win their 9th straight Metro and Section 1 titles with 5 shutouts along the way. Earning All-Metro honors were: Casey Pratt, Dave Bonjorno, Andy Tuberson, Eric Miller, Jeff Kohler, Nick Krause, and Andy Moczulski earned honorable mention All-Metro.

2001

The 2001 team lost the Metro title with a shocking 19-36 loss to Cathedral Prep, which was the most lopsided loss to their rivals since an 18-40 loss in 1987. It also meant that for the first time since 1992, the Metro champ would not be McDowell. The team got revenge at Sectionals as McDowell's 6th runner finished ahead of Cathedral Prep's 6th runner to break a 28-28 tie. That win marked the team's 10th consecutive Section 1 Championship. Earning All-Metro were: Josh Montgomery, Harry Balwick Jr., Nick Krause, Eric Kalivoda, and Eric Miller.

2002

The 2002 team was led by Runner of the Year, Nick Krause. Earning All-Metro honors were: Nick Krause, Brandon Balwick, Eric Miller, Jon Benson, Brian Pratt, and freshman Kevin Gorny. Earning honorable mention were Andy Moczulski and Sean Fischer. Although the team was able to beat Cathedral Prep 28-30 to win the Metro, they lost to them at the Section 1 Championship.

2003

For the second straight year, the team won the Metro title by beating Cathedral Prep (25-33), but lost to them at the Sectional meet. The team did win the McDowell Invitational for the first time since 1997, along with winning 3 other invitationals. The team was led by All-Metro runners Jon Benson, Kevin Gorny, Brian Pratt, Harry Balwick and Sean Fischer.

2004

1968

The 1968 cross country team had 19 new runners, but still managed a successful season with 9 wins and only 2 losses.  The team won the Central Catholic Invitational, took 2nd at Section 1, lost districts to Strong Vincent, and placed 6th at the state meet.  The team was led by All-State runner, and captain, Jon Bannister, and captain Jay Pratt, who finished 10th at districts.  Bannister finished 12th at the state meet to tie the highest finish ever by a McDowell runner.  

1969

The 2004 team beat Cathedral Prep 22-34, but lost to Mercyhurst Prep for the first time in school history 26-32. The new Region 6 Championship was won by Mercyhurst Prep. The team was led most of the season by Kevin Gorny, but it was Joe Wayne who became McDowell's first individual district champ since Adam Dzuricky in 1996. Gorny finished as the runner-up as Joe and him became McDowell's first ever 1-2 tandem at districts. Kevin Gorny went on to finish 90th at the state meet.

2005

Led by District champ Kevin Gorny, the 2005 squad won their first ever Region 6 Championship. At districts, the team finished second to a Meadville squad that won their first District 10 Championship in over 30 years. Gorny, Joe Wayne, and Carl Kallgren were all 1st team All-Region.  Matt Popson was 2nd team All-Region.

2006

The team ended up with a 3rd place finish in the Region, the worst since 1982 (3rd- Section 1), but rebounded with 2nd place finish at the District 10 Championship. At districts, Carl Kallgren and Dan Marchini qualified for the State Championship with 5th and 8th place finishes. Carl joined Brian Kuric on the All-Region 6 team. Brayden Romeo and David Holcomb were honorable mention All-Region. Carl was also the Runner of the Year as he placed 147th at the state meet.

2007

The boys’ team tied with Mercyhurst Prep & Cathedral Prep for the Region 6 title by beating Mercyhurst Prep 29-30, and losing to Cathedral Prep 26-30. The team also lost to Prep in the District Championship as well as Meadville. They were led early on by Carl Kallgren until a foot injury in the Mercyhurst Prep dual meet put him out for the season. Brayden Romeo led the team at the Region 6 Invitational with a 5th place finish to earn First Team All-Region honors. Also receiving All-Region honors were: Dan Marchini (8th), Brian Theisen (9th), David Holcomb (10th), Liam Phillips (11th), and Eric Gerber (14th). Brian was the only state qualifier with a 9th place finish at the district meet as a freshmen. Dan Marchini finished 10th overall. The highlight of the year was the 5th place finish at the Slippery Rock Invitational, which tied the team's best finish ever at the invite (5th- 1999). The team also won the Bradford Invitational.

2008

For the first time since 2005, the boys squad finished undefeated and won the Region 6 dual meet title. The team finished 2nd to Cathedral Prep at the Region 6 Invitational and finished 3rd to Grove City and Cathedral Prep at districts. The young squad was led by Brian Theisen, who finished 5th at districts and qualified for states for the second straight year as only a sophomore. Liam Phillips led the team at Regionals as the only First Team All-Region member with a 5th place finish. Brayden Romeo and Nate Conrad were honorable mention with 9th and 11th place finishes.

2009

The 2009 team completed 4 shut-outs, including one against rival Cathedral Prep, which was only the second ever against them. The team won the Region 6 dual meet and Invitational title. For the first time since 1999, the team advanced to states as they won the district title over Meadville. Caleb Cordell led the team at the Region Championship as a sophomore, finishing 3rd. Ray Rood (6th), and Brayden Romeo (7th), joined Caleb on the first team All-Region team. The second team All-Region team included: Brian Thiesen (8th), Matt Pitzer (11th), and Brian Murray (13th). Brian led the team at districts with a 5th place finish, which was his third time qualifying for states. Ray Rood (8th), Brayden Romeo (9th), and Caleb Cordell (10th) also finished in the top ten.
