1960

1961

Jerry Otteni took 6th place in the broad jump at districts with a leap of 19 feet 11.75 inches. 

1962

Place winners at districts included Dick Conover (Mile), Gary Behr (100), Ed Greza (Pole Vault), and Terry Halmi (Javelin- district record at 186.5), The team showed a lot of improvement with four straight wins to start out the season, and ended the season with a 2nd place finish at the District 10 Championship to Tech Memorial. Conover finished 6th at states in the Mile, as well as the half-mile relay team.  

1963

Terry Halmi broke his own district record in Javelin (194-9). He went on to place 2nd at states in that event (199-9).  

1964

Representing McDowell in the state meet were Terry Halmi, Gary Behr, Bud Lewis, Chad Rife, Randy Hunsberger, and John Ferl. Halmi was the state champion in Javelin with a state record throw of 212 feet, 6 inches.  Rife took 4th in the Long Jump.  The team finished 2nd to East at districts.  

1965

Traveling to the state meet for McDowell were John Ferl, Rob Wagner, and Bob Brownyard. Wagner won the broad jump at the state meet with a leap of 22 feet 8.5 inches.  

1966

In the district competition, Gary Renaud took 2nd place in the Discus. Steve Kalinowski broke the old district record by 22 seconds with a 1st place finish in the 2-Mile.  Both qualified for states, where Steve placed 6th in the 2-Mile run.  The team finished 2nd to Warren in the District Championship.  They had the best season ever with a 7-1 record under the direction of Jim Nelson.  

1967

The 1967 track team was the most successful in school history.  The squad crushed every opponent to end up undefeated at 7-0.  At districts, 5 Trojans won individual events: Bill Matijasic (half mile), Jon Bannister (mile), Dave Rose (high hurdles), Keith Penman (high jump), and BIll Ericson (discus).  The team won the first ever District 10 title for track under the direction of Steve Rasey.  

1968

For the second straight season, the team went undefeated at 8-0, and won the District Championship.  Paul Lack finished 2nd at states in the Discus.  The 2-Mile relay team of Jay Pratt, Mike Cesnick, Bill Galbraith, and Rick Kissman won the district championship.  

In a year where the team won the District 10 Championship, and finished 8th at the state meet, Earl Anderson finished 1st at districts in javelin and 2nd at the state meet in the same event. The two-mile relay team set a district record. Roger Gunish finished 3rd at the state meet in the shot put with a throw of 57'-3''. The team has now won 30 consecutive dual meets.
