1977
The 1977 team struggled to keep a complete team together. They were lead by Paula Karle, who placed 13th at Sectionals, and 15th at the district meet.
1978
Under the leadership of Rick Kissman, the team won the Metro, Section 1, and District Championships, as well as placing 13th at the state meet. Michelle Brown was named the Runner of the Runner of the Year, because she was the Section 1 champ, and the District 10 runner-up. She also finished 29th at the the state championship.
1979
Michelle Brown was named the Outstanding Runner of 1979, as she placed 1st at the Gannon Invitational, Section 1 Championship, District 10 Championship, and placed 18th at the state meet, to earn All-State honors. Sue Edgett placed 2nd and 4th at Section 1, and District 10 Championships. Lisa Kirkpatrick finished 3rd in both meets. The team won the Metro, Section 1, and District titles for the second straight year.
1968
The 1968 cross country team had 19 new runners, but still managed a successful season with 9 wins and only 2 losses. The team won the Central Catholic Invitational, took 2nd at Section 1, lost districts to Strong Vincent, and placed 6th at the state meet. The team was led by All-State runner, and captain, Jon Bannister, and captain Jay Pratt, who finished 10th at districts. Bannister finished 12th at the state meet to tie the highest finish ever by a McDowell runner.
